Loved it, will definitely be back. Peaceful, clean site with numerous walks straight from the field. Really good pre-arrival information and very friendly, helpful hosts.

Just what I needed for a quick one night stopover on the bike, granted I was the only person camping (October mid-week hardly peak season 😄) but so peaceful, clean and quiet. A back to basics site, 3x toilets and wash up area but no showers. On a working farm so expect a few farm noises but situated in a lovely small village not far from the Monsall trail. Fire pits and bricks to raise them provided free of charge. I paid £13 for one night, perfect!

Top notch camping -- views like a wild camping video, but with some key extras like clean loos, fire baskets, and the nicest owners. It is a little rugged and rustic, so plan for that and enjoy. We loved it!

Lovely basic farm camping. Just toilet, wash up, water and charger. Lovely views. Site a little slopey but worthwhile for the views and the quiet. Dogs welcome 😁.

First thing I want to know about a campsite is are the owners mental- the family running White Peaks are adorable lovely normal Derbyshire folks who care that the people staying with them enjoy themselves. Matt, the owners son who does a logs run and check-in each night, is a totally personable and lovely chap who you’d be happy to chat the day away with, and Janice his mum who runs the place is a warm, honest, caring and clearly thoughtful woman and honestly we were so happy with their hospitality. There is a perfectly good loo block with 2 stalls and a gents with 2 urinals, as well as a double sink. There is only cold water and no showers, so plan accordingly to that. We did leave early on account of ridiculous winds that are not normal for this area spiking at 90kmh, our 5 metre bell tent was obviously not made for this so be did have to leave- however that clearly isn’t a reflection on the site. It’s a large rectangle with boundary oaks all around and a line of them through the middle, cliche but why wouldn’t you - a swing in the middle and a few communal tables. Fires are allowed, fire pits are free and bricks provided- this is a huge plus as obvs most places charge a day rate. These guys will do anything for their guests, we noted one group had a car battery die and they called the hosts who rocked up on a tractor 20 minutes later with a booster pack lol. Others have said the owners will come out for noise complaints- whilst we did have a neighbour who played music, I simply asked the guy to turn it down and he were ok to do so. All in all, the family here is adorable, the site is tidy and clean, they don’t overbook. The only negative I can think of really is if you have a trailer hitched be careful of the approach as it’s a bit hairy coming in past the cow shed, otherwise this spot is one to come back to time and again. Stayed for a night at White Peak with our campervan and it was absolutely perfect. Instructions for finding the camping field were easy to follow, no hassle with checking in/out, just drove in and found a nice spot, left in the morning. All of the on-sight amenities were really nice and clean. Campsites like this are a rarity with most of them being like checking in to a hotel these days. We'll be back! My only advice for those staying at White Peak is to bring some levelling ramps for your camper if you have them as the field has a decent slope to it.

Perfect location for walks and visiting local areas including stepping stones, blue John caves, Bakewell and heights of Abraham. Matt was brilliant, providing local knowledge and delivery wood for camp fire. The site has toilets and drinking water, plus a useful usb charging point. Had a good 4G connection the whole time also. Fire pits are provided. I am definitely coming back. Oh my dog loved it!!

This is a lovely place to camp. Great scenery, clean toilets and even a swing for children. The owners are very responsive and helpful. The site is a 20 min walk from the A6 where you can catch an hourly bus to Bakewell/Matlock/Buxton. Great walks on the doorstep too. The pitches are reasonably flat and the site doesn’t appear to get too crowded. Fully recommended.

Would recommend White Peak campsite, Paul & Janice are very helpful and made me feel welcome. Excellent value for money, much lower than other sites & they bring logs around by tractor if you want a bbq. Close to the Mondale trail & amazing views. Quiet & peaceful location. Matt Lewis Essex.

Fantastic spot, a hidden gem. We wanted low price, basic and family friendly, so this was excellent - exactly what we wanted after research into campsites costing £145 for a family for two nights - you may as well get an Air BnB! The two loos and two urinals in sheds are spacious and in a spotless condition and very regularly cleaned with plenty of loo paper, emergency contact and other details on the wall, and automatic lighting when you enter - great if you forget your headtorch! There is no hot water or showers so you will need a stove if you want hot water in the sheltered cooking area or to wash hands/face/smelly bits/dogs/kids. The owners come round every evening 6 or 8pm with logs for a fire - a real fire! How many campsites allow that these days? They also provide free fire pits and bricks to mount them on. The field is is on a gentle slope so you do have to make sure you pitch accordingly, heads uphill. The field is fully fenced and you can see your kids at all times playing footie etc in the ample, grassy space, playing on the swing from the tree and hiding under the benches dotted around. You can access the Monsal Trail from the camping field, down a dirt road, but do not do this with young kids - it's very loose with gravel and gets very steep, and leads to an unavoidable 200m of busy road with no pavement. We made this mistake with 3 under 7's and survived but don't tell our husbands! The owners are very lovely, very accommodating - they let us stay a bit longer so our tents could dry out in the sun and we could enjoy the day cycling the Monsal Trail without packing up early in the morning. They are very quick to answer the phone if you have any questions, and if music goes on past 10pm you must ring them so they can have a word. Any music and kids playing noises all stopped around 9:30pm on our stay, and it was a really lovely quiet spot - oh apart from the odd aeroplane but most people are used to that kind of sound! I didn't even need my headtorch for a nighttime loo trip as there were so many stars, beautiful place, well worth a stay if you like a family-friendly, low cost campsite with basic, clean facilities.
